How to register a .PK domain from PKNIC.
1. Go to https://pk6.pknic.net.pk/pk5/login.PK
2. Click Register a New Account link and fill the form.
3. Your account will be created right away, login with your credentials.
4. Once signed in you’ll land in the Account Balance section.
5. Click on the Billing menu and go to Add Domain Credit by credit card. It doesn’t matter if you plan on using a debit card in place of credit.
6. Now simply add your payment details and deposit the appropriate amount depending on how many domains you plan on buying (btw the whole process is secure, if you are concerned). You will have to deposit at least one domain’s credit (for two years, as unlike most other registrars, PKNIC doesn’t allow registration for one year period).
7. The credit should be added to your account by now, click on the Register a Domain link or go to https://pk6.pknic.net.pk/pk5/register.PK, fill the Domain Owner section and add a technical contact (and don’t forget to select it before submitting the form).
8. Don’t worry by the looks of the form as submitting it will not register the domain right away, it will first check its availability etc. and ask you to confirm the purchase, if the desired domain is available, then you can register with the credit you deposited earlier in your account.
That’s about it for the registration of domains. After you have bought your first domain, you will need to link it to your web hosting service by creating DNS records within your PKNIC domain management section as PKNIC being only the domain registrar does not sell hosting services, so you will have to get that from another provider like Go Daddy, Name Cheap etc. If you need any help on setting up DNS records to point your domain to your web host/website or any other PaaS/SaaS platforms like Shopify then continue to the next part of this post. Good luck with your newly registered domain and that awesome start up idea you have been working on tirelessly.
